Evidence Implicating Amalgam in Alzheimer's Disease

چکیده

Kip Sullivan is an attorney from Minneapolis that has recovered from an "incurable" illness after having his amalgam fillings removed. Since then he has been an advocate for making this treatment more readily accepted and available to others suffering from neurological diseases, and has done extensive research which is documented in a memo that he is presenting to several well known Alzheimer's medical researchers in the Minneapolis area. The following are excerpts from the memo, presented here with Kip's permission, without the extensive footnotes, references and tables contained within the memo. Anyone wishing additional information with regard to the content presented here should contact Kip at (612)823-1459.

Health effects of dental amalgam exposure: a retrospective cohort study.

BACKGROUND Whether dental amalgam fillings (containing mercury) are hazardous is a long-standing issue, with few epidemiological investigations. Allegations have particularly involved nervous system disorders, such as multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, and chronic fatigue syndrome. This retrospective cohort study, the largest of its kind, contained people in the New Zealand Defence Force ...

Apolipoprotein E genotyping as a potential biomarker for mercury neurotoxicity.

Apolipoprotein-E (apo-E) genotyping has been investigated as an indicator of susceptibility to heavy metal (i.e., lead) neurotoxicity. Moreover, the apo-E epsilon (epsilon)4 allele is a major risk factor for neurodegenerative conditions, including Alzheimer's disease (AD). A theoretical biochemical basis for this risk factor is discussed herein, supported by data from 400 patients with presumpt...

Alzheimer disease: mercury as pathogenetic factor and apolipoprotein E as a moderator.

The etiology of most cases of Alzheimer's disease (AD) is as yet unknown. Epidemiological studies suggest that environmental factors may be involved beside genetic risk factors. Some studies have shown higher mercury concentrations in brains of deceased and in blood of living patients with Alzheimer's disease. Experimental studies have found that even smallest amounts of mercury but no other me...

Elevated DNA methylation across a 48-kb region spanning the HOXA gene cluster is associated with Alzheimer's disease neuropathology

INTRODUCTION Alzheimer's disease is a neurodegenerative disorder that is hypothesized to involve epigenetic dysregulation of gene expression in the brain. METHODS We performed an epigenome-wide association study to identify differential DNA methylation associated with neuropathology in prefrontal cortex and superior temporal gyrus samples from 147 individuals, replicating our findings in two ...

The role of genetics in alzheimer’s disease

Alzheimer's disease is a progressive neurological disorder that causes the brain to shrink (atrophy) and brain cells die. Alzheimer's disease is the most common cause of dementia and causes a decrease in thinking skills and social behaviors. Alzheimer's disease is more common in people over 65 years old. The risk of developing Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia increases with age,...
